Brett Gottheimer

Brett Gottheimer has taught Choral Music at Canton Middle/High School since 2007 where he directs six choirs in grades 7-12 and teaches ear training for AP Music Theory. He also directs the high school musical theater productions. Brett designed and maintains http://www.cantonmusic.org. Prior to Canton, Brett taught in the New Canaan and Region #11 School Districts.

Brett has a B.A. in Music (voice emphasis) and a B.S. in Education from the University of Connecticut and Masters in Music Education (vocal pedagogy emphasis) at the HARTT School of Music, University of Hartford.

Brett is active in professional organizations including Music Educator’s National Conference (MENC) and the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA) and is the High School Repertoire and Standards Chair and Webmaster (http://www.ctacda.org) for the Connecticut Chapter of ACDA. He remains an active performer in community and semi-professional musical theater throughout the state. Brett also serves regularly as a section leader in local synagogues and churches and has recently served as a bass section leader for the Greater Middletown Chorale in Middletown, CT.
