Brett Gottheimer

Brett Gottheimer has taught Choral Music at Canton Middle/High School since 2007 where he teaches six choirs in grades 7-12, ear training for AP Music Theory and directs the high school musical theater productions. He designed and maintains, the Canton K-12 Music Department Website. Brett has a B.A. in Music (voice emphasis) and a B.S. in education from the University of Connecticut and a Masters Degree in Music Education from the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford. He is currently pursuing a sixth year degree in educational leadership from the University of Connecticut.

Brett is active in professional organizations including the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA) and is a past High School Repertoire and Standards Chair for the Connecticut Chapter of ACDA. He remains an active performer of choral music as member of CONCORA (Connecticut Choral Artists) and musical theater throughout the state. Brett regularly serves as a section leader in local synagogues and churches and has served as a bass section leader for the Greater Middletown Chorale in Middletown, CT and baritone soloist with the Naugatuck Community Chorus.

Canton 8th Grade Choirs regularly receive superior ratings at adjudications, and the Canton High Chamber Singers were featured performers at the 2012 Connecticut Music Educators Association In-Service Conference.
